IRRIGATION

The high rainfall and relatively low evaporation rates make irrigation unnecessary throughout the proposed region and no major irrigation schemes are in place. However most growers have drip irrigation systems fed by dams to carry crops through irregular dry periods and to ensure young vines have sufficient water for establishment.
